Senate and House leaders should start doing their job – not just paying current bills but also meeting the country’s long-term obligations and balancing the books.

To do list includes: 1) reducing historic national debt, 2) finding roughly $400 billion/year to make Social Security solvent, 3) controlling or reducing national medical costs. Better yet: use savings to establish universal health coverage and retirement savings (401k) systems covering everyone and ensure wages/family income can cover cost of living including for families with kids.
