“…states, led by Ohio and Kentucky, are actually nationalizing a key mechanism to organize pharmaceutical prices. Yes, nationalizing, aka having the state take over a private business and run it. And it’s working fantastically well.”

Because the federal government pays for most of states’ Medicaid expenditures, pioneering state drug purchasing programs already have saved hundreds of millions of dollars for taxpayers across the country. Fearful that Medicare might follow suit, watch for Big Pharma lobbyists crying communism… Or is state purchasing just good business?
