As States Mull Medicaid Work Requirements, Two Scale Theirs Back — Republicans are hoping to slash billions from the federal budget – MedPage Today

In short: Even though states have found that Medicaid work requirements do not work, more states are considering imposing Medicaid work requirements. Medicaid work requirements = 1) huge amount of paperwork for the bureaucrats + 2) loss of health coverage for people who need it + 3) little to no impact on employment levels. And much of what states may save by dropping people from Medicaid coverage will later be canceled out by the cost of treating more uninsured people when they show up sick at hospital emergency rooms.
