The latest brainstorm to fly out of DT’s mouth. The only good thing about the US occupying Gaza might be cessation of Israeli extermination of its population, now being achieved with US-supplied weapons. Note that a massive rebuilding project would result in billions of dollars of profits by US and Israeli contractors with US taxpayers footing the bill. Trump suggests that the 2 million inhabitants of Gaza be shipped to Egypt and Jordan (aka ethnic cleansing). In this vision of Gaza’s future, when the new resorts are finished, displaced Palestinians could be shipped back as landless low-wage labor while the Western master class relaxed on the beach. A project of this size would also mean expansion of the US federal workforce and government spending – outcomes that might cause panic at DOGE.
