“The problem for the big three is that they operate this way for virtually every major medication they can, driving up list prices and overall costs across the board. If the FTC gets relief on insulin that says these kinds of secret rebates are illegal, or that PBMs have to give equal rebates to everyone, then it radically upends how pharmaceuticals get sold in America. All of a sudden, the PBMs who are supposed to be bargaining for prices to come down will start doing that, instead of bargaining to raise them…”

Like paying a vampire to run a blood bank? It will be interesting to see if the FTC finds that employer purchasers are also getting kickbacks.
