For the near future, is there an alternative other than supervision by an international force that keeps the peace and also supervises humanitarian aid? The Biden Administration should back up its verbal demand that, when the fighting ends, Israel cannot continue to occupy Gaza with real consequences including immediate sanctions and loss of US funding. The US should also consider cessation of all funding to Israel until its government demonstrates that its overriding objective, as demonstrated by actions, is not liquidation of Gaza and expansion of Jewish settlement in the occupied West Bank.
